"HAR HATH MEIN PHONE"-free mobile phone to the BPL family

The scheme will be called as Har Hath Mein Phone is expected to be announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 15 during 65th Independence Day, this scheme will help 28 million poor people (6 million family) across India to have access to free connectivity. 

Sources claims that 50% cost of “Har Hath Mein Phone” scheme will be funded from the Department of Telecommunication’s Universal Service Obligation (USO) funds and rest of 50% of the cost of the scheme is likely to come from the bidder who gets the right to provide mobile phone service (Prepaid SIM Card) and the remaining 50% from the USO fund. The USO fund is meant for providing access to phone services to people in rural and remote areas at affordable prices. 

The PMO is directly involved with the Planning Commission, PM’s advisor Sam Pitroda and Telecom Ministry in giving a final shape to this scheme. The Planning Commission and DoT have been asked to submit a final workable solution for this scheme by August 10, so that the Prime Minister can announce the scheme on 65th Independence Day – August 15.

DA RATE WEF JULY 2012 TO BE 72% (7 % INCREASE) ESTIMATED

Based on AICPI (IW) - All India Price Index for Industrial Workers- June figure has just been released, DA rate will increase by 7% from July -2012 onwards.

CPI-IW on base 2001=100 for the month of June, 2012 increased by 2 points and stood at 208 (two hundred eight). 

During June, 2012, the index recorded maximum increase of 8 points each in Mercara and Godavarikhani centres, 7 points in Puducherry centre, 5 points in Madurai, Howrah, Chennai, Lucknow and Warrangal centres, 4 points in 7 centres, 3 points in 13 centres, 2 points in 11 centres, 1 point in 18 centres. The index decreased by 2 points each in Ludhiana and Mysore centres and 1 point in 5 centres, while in the remaining 14 centres the index remained stationary.

The maximum increase of 8 points in Mercara centre is mainly due to increase in the prices of Rice, Poultry (Chicken), Tea (Readymade), Coffee (Readymade), Bidi, Refined Liquor, Firewood, Cinema Charges, Bus Fare, etc. In Godawarikhani centre this increase of 8 points is mainly due to increase in the prices of  Rice, Arhar Dal, Moong Dal, Groundnut Oil, Vegetable & Fruit items, Firewood, Petrol, Toilet Soap, etc. The increase of 7 points in Puducherry centre is due to increase in the prices of Rice, Arhar Dal, Poultry (Chicken), Fish Fresh, Fish Dry, Eggs (Hen), Vegetable & Fruit items, Cigarette, Cinema Ch///arges, Petrol, Tailoring Charges, etc. The increase of 5 points in Madurai, Howrah, Chennai, Lucknow and Warrangal centres is due to increase in the prices of Rice, Arhar Dal, Poultry (Chicken), Fish Fresh, Eggs (Hen), Vegetable & Fruit items, Petrol, Tailoring Charges, etc. The decrease of 2 points in Ludhiana centres  is mainly due to decrease in the prices of Onion, Vegetable & Fruit items, Firewood, etc. and the decrease of 2 points in Mysore is due to decrease in the prices of Rice, Vegetable & Fruit items, etc.

The point to point rate of inflation based on CPI-IW(General) for the month of June, 2012 is 10.05% as compared to 10.16% in May, 2012. Inflation based on Food Index declined to 10.45% in June, 2012 from 10.61% in May, 2012.

The CPI-IW for July, 2012 will be released on the last working day of the next month, i.e. 31st August, 2012.

Sub:            Calling for nominations for a special programme at APPC on “Managing a Post Office”

            A copy of Directorate letter No. 10-23/2012-Trg. Dated 3-8-12 regarding above subject is forwarded herewith for information. The training programme is scheduled to be held from 24-09-12 to 5-10-12 at APPC, Bangkok.

            I am directed to request you to forward the nominations(not more than one), if any, from your unit in the enclosed proforma. Postmasters of important Post Offices and Divisional Heads may be nominated for the aforesaid training programme. Kindly spell out the specific performace of the officer nominated clearly in justification of the nomination.

            Officers/officials with less than 2 years of service before superannuation (as on the day of commencement of the training) or who have already undergone any training abroad need not be nominated. The availability of the officials nominated  and their willingness to attend the programme may also be ascertained.

                Nomination, if any, in respect of your unit should be submitted latest by  7-8-12 so as to submit it in time. If no reply is received by 1700 hrs on 7-8-12 from any unit, it will be presumed that there is no nomination from that unit.

            This is urgent.

   I am directed to intimate that notification for Direct Recruitment of PA/SA for the vacancies for the years 2011 & 2012 will be released through News Papers on 11.8.2012. The examination will be conducted by outsourced agency i.e. The CMC Ltd. The cost of each OMR application Kit is `.50/- only. The sale of forms to the applicant will start from 11.8.2012 and will close on 25.09.2012.

                    This office has despatched OMR Application Kit as per the particulars in the Annexure to all 35 Head Post Offices / GPOs and the following six identified MDGs in Odisha Circle.

                   There is instruction from Directorate not to sale more than one form to one applicant.
