IT 2.0 is the Information Technology Modernization Project Phase II launched by the Department of Posts (DoP) with an outlay of ₹5,785 crore over eight years (2022–2030). It builds on the success of IT 1.0 (2012) and aims to modernize all 1.65 lakh post offices across India.

  • Enables UPI payments from any bank, not just IPPB

2. Mobile Enablement

  • Android smartphones distributed to Branch Post Offices
  • Facilitates doorstep delivery of postal, financial, and government services

3. Unified Interface

  • One platform for booking, tracking, delivery, and payments
  • Handles over 30 lakh bookings and deliveries per day
