Postal Ballot Counting Reforms

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reinstated pre-2019 rules for postal ballot counting:

New Rule: Final rounds of EVM counting will begin only after postal ballots are fully counted.
Reason: Surge in postal ballots due to expanded home voting for PwDs and seniors aged 85+.
Impact: Aims to reduce delays and ensure transparency in upcoming elections, starting with Bihar.
